Allen Dean Grubbs

Allen Dean Grubbs, age 74, of Union, passed away April 18, 2022 at Miami Valley Hospital. Born on October 7, 1947 to the late Velma Elaine (Gregg) and Robert William Grubbs in Dayton. Allen worked for 23 years as a Corrections Officer at the Dayton Correctional Institution before retiring. He was a very faithful husband, father, and friend who loved to talk about Jesus. He formerly taught Sunday School and was a Deacon at First Light Church in Vandalia. He went on a missions trip with his church to Ukraine and preached the word of God. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Allen enjoyed fishing and traveling to Florida with his wife, Jane. Allen is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years: Jane (Walls) Grubbs, sons: Michael Grubbs and Jeffrey (Mandy) Grubbs, adopted daughter: Amy (Louie) Crespo, grandchildren: Jacob, Leah, Taylor, and Megan, mother-in-law: Betty Walls, brother-in-law: Bud (Sandy) Walls, nephews: Bill Walls and John Walls, along with numerous other family members and friends. A Visitation will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm at First Light Church (140 Elva Ct, Vandalia, OH 45377) with Allen’s brother-in-law, Reverend Bud Walls officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 9:00 am, Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton.
