Charles L. “Charlie” Gilmore, age 71 of Union, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his wife play tennis. He also enjoyed reading, writing poetry, collecting model cars and putting together model ships and airplanes. He is survived by his wife of 27 years: Patricia (Krauss) Gilmore, son: Charles David (Lauren) Gilmore of KY, step-son: Bryan (Stephanie) Carnes of Monroe, grandchildren: Gavin, Elle, Mason, Reese, numerous brothers and sister, sister-in-law: Kathy (James) Hosmer of Oregonia, brother-in-law: Michael Krauss of Englewood, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles O. Gilmore and Laura Applegate, and sister: Brenda. Memorial Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. The Kindred Funeral Home, Englewood is handling arrangements.
