Leonard "Guy" Tinch Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Leonard Guy Tinch AKA “Jaws”, age 72, of Tipp City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 26, 2021 at his home, after a long battle with cancer. Born May 1, 1949 to the late Sybil (Owens) and Leonard Tinch in Jamestown, Tennessee. Guy worked and retired from Air Freight Logistics after 31 years near the Dayton International Airport. He was full of charm, wit, and trivia knowledge we will all miss. He loved the outdoors, bird watching, camping, and bonfires. He could be found watching westerns and football in his favorite chair, especially the Bengal’s and Tennessee Volunteers, WHO DEY! GO VOLS! Guy also enjoyed woodworking, where he made tables and all other kinds of items. He loved the USA, and traveled to nearly all 50 states. Most importantly, he loved to spend his time with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years: Dora Tinch, daughters: Andrea Tinch, Katie (Matthew) Harley, grandchildren, his pride and joy: Bailey, Allie, and Isaiah, sister: Nina Kathleen Hatfield, brothers: Denton Tinch, Rodney (Barb) Tinch, brothers-in-law: Jack Marquis, Denny Johnston, sisters-in-law: Jane (Denzel) Barrett, Joan (Jim) Fowler, brothers-in-law: Rick (Carla) Woodie, Bill Woodie, Dan Woodie, special life-long friends: Mike “Big Wood” Neil and Mark Cravens of Tennessee, and Pete (Beverly) Trussel of Mississippi, along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. In addition to his parents, Guy was preceded in death by his sisters: Sharon Marquis and Janie Johnston. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 am, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd. Englewood, Ohio 45322) with Guy's friend, Carl DeHart officiating. A visitation will take place from 9:30 am until the time of services. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation. The Kindred Funeral Home, Englewood is handling arrangements.
